Course Description
This workshop explores innovative treatment approaches for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), focusing on the integration of Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Participants will gain an understanding of how these therapeutic modalities can be combined to address the unique psychological challenges faced during the perinatal period, including depression, anxiety, and trauma. Ketamine, a fast-acting, dissociative anesthetic, has shown promise in providing rapid symptom relief for individuals with treatment-resistant conditions. When paired with psychotherapy, it can help patients access deeper emotional processing. EMDR, a well-established trauma-focused therapy, can enhance this process by helping individuals reprocess traumatic memories and reduce emotional distress.
By the end of the workshop, participants will be equipped with tools to enhance their therapeutic approach, improve client outcomes, and provide compassionate care for those navigating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.

Kate Kincaid, LPC, CMHC is a licensed therapist based in Tucson, AZ and Salt Lake City, UT. She is certified in EMDR and is a Consultant in Training. She runs group private practices that specializes in working with LGBTQIA2S+ clients, people in ethically non-monogamous relationships and people seeking psychedelic integration therapy. She is trained by MAPS in MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapy and utilizes Ketamine Assisted Therapy in her practice as well as KAP provider trainings. Kate is certified in Perinatal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International. She is passionate about perinatal mental health and is an advocate for innovative psychiatric treatments for PMDD and postpartum depression.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify the key symptoms and risk factors associated with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), and explain how they differ from other mental health conditions.
- Describe the mechanisms of action of Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and EMDR, and discuss their potential benefits and limitations for treating PMADs.
- Analyze case examples to apply KAP and EMDR techniques in the treatment of perinatal clients, evaluating their effectiveness in addressing trauma and emotional distress.
- Create an individualized treatment plan integrating KAP and EMDR for perinatal clients, considering their unique needs, challenges, and treatment goals.
- Explain the therapeutic benefits of Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for treating depression, anxiety, and trauma/PTSD.
- Identify key integration strategies for combining KAP and EMDR within the therapeutic process, with an emphasis on optimizing emotional processing and memory reprocessing for clients with treatment-resistant conditions.

Continuing Education Credits
Participation in all training sessions and submission of a course evaluation is required to receive a CE certificate for this course. Course evaluations are made available after all live sessions have been completed within the course portal. After completing the evaluation, participants will be able to submit a request for their CE certificate. This training offers 6 CE credits.

What is your refund policy?
More than 14 days notice is required for a full refund minus 7% administrative fee. Cancellations made within 14 days of training are eligible for a 50% refund or full transfer to another training within The Touchstone Institute. Only 1 transfer to another training is allowed. If you can not attend the transferred training your fee will be forfeited. No-shows are not eligible for a refund or transfer. Exceptions to this policy are limited to medically documented circumstances or family bereavements. Failure to attend without prior notification (no-shows) will not qualify for a refund.
