Course Description

Note: This workshop combines all four sections of "Perinatal EMDR Deep Dive: The Complete Course." If you prefer to register for one or more rather than the complete course, you can find them here: Neurobiology of TraumaHistory and Target SelectionResourcing and Preparation, and Complexities in Reprocessing

This workshop contains recorded material from live trainings of EMDR Fundamentals: Reboot through the Perinatal Lens held in 2022 and 2023.

This self-paced workshop will review the fundamentals of EMDR therapy beginning with the neurobiology of trauma, then moving into the model, method, and mechanism of treatment. The training will review all phases of EMDR therapy through a perinatal mental health lens.

Attendees will be introduced to the Three Core Tasks parents face during the perinatal period (Davis & Stein, 2003), namely:

  1. Development of Parental Identity
  2. Managing Emotions
  3. Managing Relationships

This comprehensive framework guides clinicians in history-taking, case conceptualization, treatment planning, and target selection. The holistic training model allows more nuance and specificity in the assessment of ruptures during the perinatal period. Using EMDR’s three-prongs and eight phases, adaptive information processing, and the Three Core Tasks, attendees will hone their clinical conceptualization skills.
